laundry room ventilation

Hi,

I have a laundry room in the 1st floor, and there are two looks-like-cold-air-returns, but those two register blow out cold airs constantly. Those are located one on the ceiling and the other is on the bottom of the wall. I am not sure what this register/vent purpose is... I guess providing some outside air for gas drier???

Can I block these temporarily during this cold winter? Or should I leave it along...???? My laundry room is freezing and that cold air gets into the main leaving area thru the under gap of the door of the room.

Thanks in advance,

Sang

Lightbulb Vents

If that is all you have out there is the gas drier and no other gas water heater or furnace I dont see why you cant close them when the drier is not running. DONT FORGET TO OPEN THEM WHEN YOU USE THE DRIER. ED
