Question

I have a 2 story home with a forced air system in the attic using natural circ hot water from the water heater.

The problem is after the system runs for a short period, it blows cool/cold air, as if the natural circ is not working. It worked last winter. I've checked the flow through the plumbing to and from the heat exchanger in the attic and there appears to be no blockage. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds as though you have air in the lines or you may have a bad circulator pump or pump coupling. If the system was installed correctly you should have an air bleeder valve on the piping where the HW coil is installed in the duct work. Circulator pumps: the two most common are Taco and B&G. The Taco is totally enclosed and not much can be done except to change it. The B&G has a coupling between the motor and pump, these are usually the culprit. You can lood at it to see if it is connected and working with a flashlite.
