Need advice
We are going to need an A/C unit soon in my home with is 2200 square feet single level. Home built in 1984 original Lennox heat pumps(two) one cools only bed rooms and the other the living rooms and other rooms. I think each unit is two ton now.
Both air handlers are in the attic now.
I want to get a Trane XL14i.I need all ducts replaced also since the old ones are flex and all the insulation is splitting after all these years in a hot Texas attic.
A guy is coming in a few days for an estimate what kind of questions should I ask him?
The shop is a member of ACCA and also is in the BBB.
What do you pros think I should ask him?
Thanks a million what is the highest SEER available now?
Oh what do you think would be a good price?

New heat pomp
Well for the tops go for the trane XL19i That will give you a seer 17.90 and a 8.90 HSPF it also will give you a better humidity control. On the ducts have the main trunk line made out of duct board so it holds up better than that flex duct does and not so much drag. I would get 3 bids for the job for sure put it all down in black and white what they will do. also have them run a new heat load on the home . ED

attic
I do have an attic fan that does not work I do not know why I followed the wires and they go under the insulation .I will have to fix it as soon as I figure out how it works and were the power comes from.
The insulation is OK not the best it has settled in some spots.
