-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, here's my problem; My furnace appears to turn on normally the first time the thermostat is turned on (although the burner might take a little to long to turn on) During the course of a night of use the furnace stops working. I can hear the electronic ignition sparking ( i think it just uses an ignition coil similiar to that of an automobile and an ignition cable that carries the high voltage to the pilot light) That part of the system is working...i'm wondering if there is some sort of thermo-coupler? Like on the older furnaces? I personally cant locate one...so basically I can hear the sparking of the igniter it appears to light the pilot but the burner refuses to light. any solutions or ideas would be helpful. I have oil heat and baseboard heating, when the burner first fires, i get a banging noise in my pipes. I traced the noise to a section of wall in a dormer that was cut to put the pipe through. Any ideas how to stop it?
