Fuel oil shelf-life?

What is the shelf-life for fuel oil? I have several hundred gal. in a tank, indoors, that is 5-7 years old. Is it safe to use in my oil fired boiler?

Thanks.

I dont see why not, I would put a new oil filter and a new nozzle in also to start.

It should be fine yet. It may require an extra filter change or nozzle change before it is all used up but that is a small price to pay considering the current cost of fuel. I took posession of 250 gallons of oil in a tank that had been sitting for almost 20 years and put it in my tank at our shop. It required a FEW filter changes before it was gone but it all burned.
