Furnace Flames Coming out of Chamber

I recently had to replace the gas control valve on my furnace. Shortly after I did it the pilot light started going out once a day. Upon inspection it seems that sometimes when the burners kick in flames shoot out an inch or two out of the chamber and blow the pilot light out. What would cause this?

Some of the causes of this is a cracked heat exchanger, dirty heat exchanger, dirty burners. How old is the furnace and has it been cleaned lately?

Flames out front of furnace.

Also as well, Check the condition of the flue. And also that the passages though the heat exchanger are clear.

Wink

When you worked on it .Did you also clean the burners down in the venturi and the pilot lighter strip on them. Sounds like it dont light when it should cause the lighter strip has dirt in it.Did you put in a new T/C with the new valve
