Two Stage Thermostat?

I have a Kenmore 80 gas heater that is a two stage and am using a single stage thermostat. What advantages would there be to upgrade to a two stage thermostat?

By just using a single stage stat you are either using just 1/2 the furnaces capabilities or you are always on high fire. Either way you are wasting fuel at times. With a two stage stat the furnace will go to low fire under low load times using less fuel and into high fire during colder times to keep you toasty.

Looked at the manual and it says the heater will still use the two stage without the two stage thermostat. The heater will control it. I agree with you guys, will purchase a two stage. Thanks for the help.
