Ran out of oil...

Hello

Apparently I ran out of oil over the summer (no leaks, just stupidity). I got some oil today but of course the furnace won't kick in. I understand that I have to purge air out of the oil line but I need some instruction on how exactly to do this. Any help would be much appreciated.

The furnace is a Kerr Saturn, Oil Fired Hot Water Boiler with a single oil line coming from the bottom of the oil tank to the furnace which is in the basement.

Once again, any help you could give me woudl be much appreciated...it's starting to get cold up here ...

At the oil pump there should be a fitting looks kinda like a brake bleeder. Loosen that until you get flow.

Another tip is on an oil furnace it's very important to get it serviced every year.

Wink

Like Matt said you should have it looked at .New nozzle and new oil filter there if you let the tank go dry. Open the bleeder there when the buner comes on have a can there by it. If it shuts down before oil, close it right away. Till you can hit the reset and the burner runs again then open it up till you have oil no foam. should light.

You should still have it serviced
