Duct gets hot at discharge of furnace

This may be a dumb question but. I have noticed that the duct at the discharge of my gas furnce gets really hot. Its an upflow furnce. Is this normal. When i say hot i dont mean burn your fingers hot but its really noticable. Also they used foil tape to seal the duct to the furnce is this ok. The furnce is in a super tite closet and you cant really reach the back side of the duct and the sides of the furnce are only about 10 or 14 inches from side of wall

Wink

Sounds ok .There is a limit control also in there like if the fan stops so the furnace dont get to hot it will turn the furnace off. Most units are UL for 1" off any wall but the front. You sure the AC coil is clean and the air filter is clean a new one every 30 days wll help keep the plenum cool.
