York gas furnace does not ignite

I have a 9-yr old York gas furnace. The hot surface ignitor was replaced 2 years ago and worked ok until 2 weeks ago.

When I used it the first time this year, it glowed and ignited ok. But a day later, it did not glow and ignite at all. I bought a new hot surface ignitor today and connected the wires, but the new one does not ignite either.

What could be the problem? Thanks a lot,

Bill

could be a couple of things

see if voltage is going to the ignitor

if so and it does not glow it is bad. if voltage is not going to it, could be pressure switch, rollout switches, trash in the inducer housing where the pressure switch hooks to it, or maybe the board, but i doubt that. does the board have a diagnostic light?

Thanks a lot. There is no voltage to the iginitor wire. I do not see a diagnostic light, however a lot of wires and switches. I wish I can upload the picture here, may be you can show me which one is the pressure switch.

If it has a pressure switch it will have a rubber tube running to it from the flue pipe/inducer motor.

Can you check with your meter and confirm you have 24v going to the control module?

Just replaced the pressure switch, but it did not help. It seems that the ignition control has no output. The control does had a steady red diagnostic light on, but the printed statement on the control says that control should have a flashing red lignt.

Before I purchase a new ignition control, do you think this is the problem? Do you know the price range? or Can you recommend a good website where I can find the price and easily purchase the parts?

Thanks a lot,

Bill
