Digital Thermostat functions
I just installed a Honeywell Digital Thermostat to replace the older dial thermostat. My gas furnace is 4 years old. The reason I replace the old thermostat was to buy one that enabled the furnace fan to run solely without heat or a/c. I made the right connections for the furnace fan to run solely, or at least it works now (I had to hook up the fan wire at the furnace and the corresponding wire at the thermostat). The question I have is the following: when the new digital thermostat is set to 70 degrees and the actual thermostat temp. reading is below 70 degrees, it has a little flame that lights up on the thermostat readout telling you that the furnace is being turned on. Some times when I look at it, is is below 70 and the little flame is lit up on the readout but the furnace is not running. When I turn the thermostat switch to off and then to heat again, it then starts up and heats until room temp. hits 70 again. Is this something to be concerned about? It seems that sooner or later if the temp. falls below 70 degrees that it does seem to keep the house around 67-70 degrees at all times (readings according to the thermostat readout). I also hear the furnace kick on and then right off again every once in a while, is this because of the fluctuating thermostat temp., temp. fluctuating between 69 and 70 degrees tripping the furnace to run?
Thanks!
Thanks!

What model of T-stat did you get?
What is the make and model of your furance?
Some t-stat use "Power Stealing" system, and with some furnaces out there, they don't work well when you "steal" power from them.
Post back with the info on the two products.

Chopper,
I am aware this is not programble t-stat.
There are dip switches on the back side to set up the t-stat to a heating system that maybe in the home. Did you set the dip switches up to your system?
