1960's atlas heater

I have an atlas heater that i have to work with for a little while. My problem is that the pilot lights and stays lit but the heater does not fire. What is the actual name of the part that has the knob for lighting the heater, and contains the wiring for the thermostat and power source. Also there is a heat operated thermostat up high on the furnace that is between the mystery part and the actual thermostat you operate.
Any help would be great, ive been trouble shooting for hours

That would be your gas valve and high/fan limit. If you've never seen this thing operate it would be well advised to get a pro in to give it a clean and safety check for your safety.
