Did you mean two stage? or is your home set up on two zone.. T-stat on main floor, and another t-stat for another area?
There are lot of good two stage system out there.. Since you already have a Rheem/Ruud equipement, they will give you credit towards a new furnace..
So I'd stay into the Rheem/Ruud line, they do make a two stage furnace, and also a Modular furnace.. The Mod furnace will be the BEST of anything out there in the market.. It's kinda $$$$ but many people says it's the best money they have spent!

Not sure what you mean by 2 zone. all the zone controls I am familiar with would work on almost any furnace.
Like Jay says, Stay with Rheem (I'm kinda partial).
Anyway.the modulating furnace Rheem makes is a bit pricey, and is not the most effiencet furnace, but mostly saves you money by modulating anywhere between 40% fire and 100 % fire, whereas a single stage burns at 100% all the time it is on. It also can not be beat for comfort, and has a Varible speed blower in it.And some of the iniatil cost can be swayed by putting it on a single stage stat till funds allow the purchase of the modulating stat (that thing isn't cheap.
The 2 stage furnaces would be better than the single stage for comfort, and probably usage cost as well. I can't say much more on these as I have no experiance with them.
The single stage 90+ furnaces probably give you the best effiency, but would probably cost you more to use due to firing at 100% whenever it is running.
So along with the definition of 2 zone let us know exactly what you are looking for (yearly heating cost, pure comfort, most btus per penny)?

Steve

I take it you do have two zone right now?
Is the ductwork set up for this?? some time the duct work is not sized rigth, and cause the system to over heat.. May shorten the life on the system..
With a zoned system. you are almost better off going two stage.

If you are considering getting a 2 zoned system then it's going to be very expensive to get it done right. In an existing home if you have an attic over the 2nd floor I would go with 2 seperate systems. You'll be much happier and probably have a few bucks left over.

sgonch,
If you do plan on going with Reem the 90% two stage is great, we just got one put in last month and it has been working like a champ, without huge temp swings. Like it was mentioned before you can just use a single stage stat and upgrade when money allows (this is what we are doing).

Glad to see you are back! Aren't you glad you went that route, and took my advise?
Are you going to do the two stage stat yourself?
