Furnace has problem starting

Hi, I have a problem that started yesterday, I have a oil fired furnace and every time it sits for awile it takes to long to fire up. It does fire up most of the time, but only after about 10 sec of no flame then it kicks in. And it doesnt have any problem starting up if I shut it down and wait 10 - 15 mins and then turn it back on, and when its running it runs fine. I replaced the pump about 8 months ago and the new one always took a couple seconds to fire up, now its gotting worst and I think that I'm losing prime but I'm not sure. Any help will be greatly apprecated

There isn't a whole lot of info for us to go on but I will tell you that it could be many things. I can't think of any reason that a brand new pump would lose its prime. It could be weak ignition, poor burner setup, or incorrect electrode settings.

Check all the fittings in the fuel system. If there are any compression fittings, replace them with flares.
