Burnt Smell coming from furnace/heating ducts

Burnt Smell coming from furnace/heating ducts

I have a mobile home and the last couple of days we have had this burnt smell in the house and we believe it is coming from furnace/heating ducts...everytime we can smell it the limit switch button is up....can anyone help??...Thanks

Sounds like you need a new blower motor. If the blower motor is running fine then you have an air restriction somewhere.

the blower motor is running fine i believe, also after the burnt smell the air coming out of the vents is cool....but if i hit the reset switch, then it will all work fine for a while....

Then it is definitely an air resriction. Do you have AC? If so, take the front cover off the a coil and check for a dirty coil.

no, we have the window airconditioners....by air restrictions, do you mean in the heating ducts??...by the way, when i reset the limit switch, everything works fine for a while, then we started smelling that burnt smell again and when i checked the furnace again, the limit switched was popped up....thanks for your help by the way

Yes i mean the ducts. If the limit switch keeps popping and the smell is there then you are just not getting enough air through your furnace. Im sure you have checked the filter, so look for any other obstructions.
