New thermostat?

I have a RobertShaw thermostat.

I tried to turn it on yesterday for the first time this fall.

I moved the following switch "Cool - Off - Heat" from off to heat.

I left the fan switch "Fan - Auto On" in its normal postion of "Auto".

The thermostat would just keep making a clicking sound and I could hear the furnace fire up but no fan.

I then switched the fan switch to on and the fan came on and heated the house. Obviously, when it warmed to the desired temp, the hot air turned to cool but the fan kept blowing because it was in the "On" position.

It appears my Fan "Auto" switch is not functioning.

Do I need a new thermostat or something else?

Thanks in advance
Robert

Wink

I say lets start with the furnace here. Not the tstat. If the furnace came on and the blower didnt lets check the board in the furnace, or the fan control and the fan motor for low speed ? .
You dont say what furnace you have are how old .

I was finally in the storage area pulling out the Christmas goods so I was able to check the manufacturer.

It is a Godman model #GMP075-3. It was originally installed in 1994.

I called Goodman to send me manuals but what trhey emailed me is a users guide and specs manual. Not much help.

Any ideas?
