Amana gas heater problem.. Please help
Hello again guys can i get some further help on my
amana air command heater? The igniter is lighting brightly and the burners also light up but after say 3 seconds it shuts off! I changed the flame sensor and i pulled out the temperature sensor which i noticed had some corrosion on it so i cleaned it but it continues to shut off. Some help would be appreciated from this great site..

Are you getting a flashing code from the red led located on the circuit board?
I assume your mean limit switch when you say temperature sensor. If you have a meter, this could be a lot easier to diagnose. Check all your ground connections. Usually there is a green wire from the circuit board that connects to the furnace chassis. Remove and clean both surfaces where this wire connects (use sandpaper or emery cloth). Without a good ground connection, the flame sensor cannot work properly. Also check the flame sensor wire, you need a good connection at both ends.
As a test, disconnect the flame sensor and start up the furnace. Does it behave exactly the same way?
Again, your symptoms indicate flame sensor (this can include wires and ground). There is a small chance the board is bad, but everything else must be ruled out first.
If anyone else has something to add, please jump in.

Amana furnace problem..
Thanks for replying, and i checked everything from the outside such as wires and bad connections. I removed the exhaust fan and made sure it was blowing. I have not checked the inside fins for accumulated dirt but that might be difficult because i cant seem to find where to open it.. I will also try turning it on without the flame sensor even though i put in a new one. Any help please
