Carrier Weathermaker 9200

Hi: This is my first popsting. From what I've read, it looks like a great place
to ask for and offer advice.
I have a Carrier Weathermaker 9200 High efficiency gas furnace. During our first attempt this season to use the heat side, there was a clicking (*wife's description) coming from the attic (attic mounted unit). It stopped when I disconnected the thermo. I am now trying to fire it up again. I have bypassed the thermo for now (connect r & w on the unit term board.The house fan starts. the larger squirrel cage in the unit starts. The black smaller fan does not. No burner ignition. I get a 31 error code. I attempted to run the led diagnostic (rmv red lead, momentarity jump test term and 24vcom) The main unit blower starts, then kicks up to a higher speed, then shuts down, again flashing the 3-1 error code.
Ideas?

House fan?

What happens if you don't jumper R and W?

What does the error code 3 1 means? May find the info on the blower door.

Hi Jay: Thanks for the reply. I'm going to start at the top. Presently, when powered up with the r/w open, nothing is running and the LED is a steady 'on'. Upon closing r/w, the main blower in the 9200 unit (disregard earlier referrence to 'house fan') kicks on. LED blinks 12 (one short, two long). After running for 90 seconds, fan shuts down, LED goes to steady 'on' and an intermittent clinking is heard from a relay on the solid state board. I cannot detect the relay id, but looking at the card with the terminal block on the upper right, the relay is on the lower left.
The code '12' error states, "BLOWER ON AFTER POWER UP (115 vac OR 24 vac) Blower runs for 90 seconds. If unit is powered up during a call for heat (r-w closed)"

Man.. You got me on that one... It been way too long since I've serviced a Carrier..

You said on earlier post you had code 31, and now 12. What does 31 means?

No cooling from furnace

Not sure what the problem is, but need yr advice. I have a 2 storey house in Calgary Canada. In the basement we have Our Gas furnace and on main floor thermostat which had been working fine. They are around 10 years old. We have a analog, HeatCraft brand thermostat. Since few days heat has stopped flowing thru the ducts, all ducts seem to be as cold as ice...I live up north in Canada, so the -20deg Celcius is unberable. When I lower the temp of the thermostat to 12 or 13, the furnace seems to go off (I guess bcoz room temp is higher then 12), but increasing it to 25 doesnt seem to make any difference. When set to 25, the furnace does shut off for some time maybe 20 mins (not very sure), and then comes on. The temp I see on the Thermostat needle is then around 17....It never seems to go over 17. The furnace is of Lennox brand, and it seem to be working well. The aluminum pipes connected to the furnace in the basement of my 2 storey house seems to be quiet hot..I cannot touch it for more then 2 seconds. Its surprising that although those pipes are hot, yet no air blowing from all ducts....Please recommend...I dont mind calling a contractor, but if it is a simple thing I could fix, then that would save lots of $$$. Is this a thermostat problem or a furnace problem. Can it be fixed by changing the thermostat. A naive fried told me it maynot be a thermostat problem as whne the temp is lowered to 12 deg, the furnace does shut off....but its surprising why it doesnt remain on too keep the house temp at 25.

Interesting Furnace issue--Please advise

Lennox G40UH furnace barely 3 years old is going through phases of working fine and not working. Both LED's flash normal when unit is working. When not working I'm getting the LED#1 Flash and LED#2 ON, which indicates the primary or secondary limit switch open. I read a little bit on internet and found that Filtrete filters could be the cause. Last night I switched the filter back. We had been using Filtrete since June. Powered the system back on and it worked fine, but konked out again sometime over the night. Woke up to 61 degrees. But unit again came back on with an flick of the on/off switch and heated 1850 sq ft home back to 66 before throwing the same code. I guess I'm wondering where to go from here. 1. Did Filtrete filter cause some kind of an issue? 2. Why are they not recommended? 3. Would 61 degrees indicate total failure overnight or did it come on 1 more time? The low last night was low 30s. 4. Any idea as to what I can try to rectify this problem?
