Amana Air Command 80 not working

The issue: the inducer motor comes on, the glow plug/ignitor glows about the size of a penny, and glows for about thirty seconds, then the gas valve clicks and lets gas escape to the "burn tubes?", then after about five to seven seconds the gas does not ignite and the system shuts down. It will cycle again and attempt to light the gas, but the results are the same.

The components: The AAC 80 has a White Rodgers 50E47-170 HSI module that has a 2 event retry.

The inducer blower motor works

The "glow plug/ignitor" burns brightly as appears to work properly

I have sanded the flame sensor w/ steel wool

The 50E47-170 unit has a red flashing light and the printing on the module indicates to perform a service (I don't know what service though)

I can light a fireplace match and set the gas on fire just after the gas valve clicks and lets gas enter the system....this allows me to heat up the house then I cut the electricity to the system so the inducer motor will stop. I relight the furnance whenever the temp gets too uncomfortable.

Why is the system not lighting the gas?

It could be the gas pressure is incorrect or the air settings are wrong. In either case that problem should be looked at by a pro with test instruments.
The only other thing I can think of is a dirty burner in the area of the ignitor not allowing gas to get to the source of ignition.
