Lightbulb furnace is not working

My blower/fan works, however it doesn't blow hot air once I have the thermostat in Auto. It will try to start, but then shortly cuts off. The burners sometimes come on and sometimes they don't. Is this something I can fix myself? Please help!

Have you changed and/or cleaned the filter IN the furnace lately?

This happened to me a few weeks ago.

Me in my infinite wisdom did not realize I had a air filter in my furnace cabinet as well as the one in the living room.

My filter was filthy not allowing air to circulate I guess.

My blower fan would be on, and my pilot lite would be on, but not the burners.

Hot,

You should NOT have two filters.. do you have more than one return grill?

Jay, I'll try to describe what I got.

In the living room, we have a filter, which I guess is the return air?

In the hallway, there is another filter, but, there's no ducting, it's like a hole in between the walls with a filter and grate (it rarely needs changing)

And lastly, there is a filter at the bottom of the furnace.

For the hallway, is this between like a bedroom and hallway?

The furnace easy to get to? What is the duct like between the livingroom return, and the furnace itself? (Sealed or leaky?)

I would describe it as ghetto 80's craftmanship.

The main return is directely adjacent to the furnace. The return is in the living room, and the furnace is directly behind that in the garage. I look in there and it's like an open crawlspace with sheetrock (approx. 2'x2')

The other in wall filter is at the other end of the house in between a bathroom and two bedrooms. I pull the filter out of that one, and I just stare at the wall cavity.
