Resetting Furnace to Get Heat
I have a Lennox G23 Furnace that was installed in 1993.
I wasn't getting any heat and found out that there is a green light on the "Intermitten Pilot Ignition Control" that keeps going out and I have to keep hitting the reset button to get it to come back on. Then after a few minutes I've got flames and the fan kicks on to move the heat.
It will only stay on for a couple of minutes....does the control need to be replaced? Better question, is this something that I can do myself or do I need a technician?
I am getting ready to replace the thermostat (something I have been meaning to do for quite some time anyways) but I doubt that will fix the problem....my air conditioning comes on just fine.

Inside the furnace, there is a little square button that has has 2 wires connected to it....one goes to a Round (appox. 3 inch diameter) metal piece with a small black sensor/switch on the back of it (not sure what this is) and the other goes to a 3x3 wire harness end with some other wires.
This is located directly above where the flames fire up.
When the green LED light is not lit on the Intermitten Pilot Ignotion Control, I can compress this button to get the light back on.

If this just above the flames, and you are resetting it, sounds like it's tripping out on Flame Roll Out.
When that button trips, it is killing the power to the ignitor for safety.
When was the last time you had service? Sounds like the heat exchanger is either dirty, or cracked.

I replaced the thermostat, but the problem is still present.
I will get an expert/technician to check it out....just wanted to make sure there was nothing simple that I could switch out.
Thanks for the help!
