6 months ago I bought a house with a ca. 16years old Repco natural gas boiler (furnace) (hot water radiator system with 3 circulating pumbs).
Can I switch off the system during summer without having problems when I have to switch it on again next autumn?
What kind of maintenance is necessary in general? I couldn't find a manual. There is just a sign with a name 'Repco Products Corp. Philadelphia 36'.
Thanks.

Boiler
If you don't use it for domestic hot water, the boiler should not fire during the summer anyway. You can turn off the switch but if it has a pilot which stays lit all the time, I suggest leaving the pilot on to keep the boilers fire side dry. You should have a professional familiar with gas fired boilers come in & service it. When he/she is there & after the boiler is cleaned & serviced, the servicer should perform a combustion analysis.
