Gas won't stay lit

I have a 2 yr old Luxaire forced air furnace. Everything starts fine. The electronic element warms up. The gas starts and lights. Then after a few seconds the gas goes out. This cycle repeats itself a few times and then the blower starts up and the furnace stays running. The gas keeps ignighting every 20-30 seconds for a few seconds and shuts goes out again.

If anyone knows what's going on please help.

Can be a few things..

Could be the flame sensing rod. It usely on the far end of the burner, the rod can be cleaned with green scrub pad.. DO NOT use sand paper.

Thank you Jay! I did what you said and presto, a day's frustration cured in under a minute. Hopefully I'm able to repay the favor for someone else if not you.
