"Smith" Gas Furnace Problems

This unit is three years old. Hot water base board. Last winter it worked great and I enjoyed the reassuring gugling of hot water freely circulating through the system.

Today I turned the T-stat all the way up. The furnace fired up quickly but hardly any hot water gurgled through the system like last winter. After an hour at full blast the base boards were only luke warm.

Any suggestions?

Welll, gurgling is not good; you shouldn't be able to hear the water flow. So first question- is your circuator pump running? How much perssure are you reading on the gauge on the bolier? Do you see a little petcock/bleeder looking device on the circulator pump? Open it and see if air comes out. Do you see an air vent on the piping in the boiler room[cylidrical, brass colored, mabe 2 inches in diameter, 6 inches tall, it has a little beeder sticking up]? Try beelding there. At each baseboard there should be bleeders, open each up and see if you get air. Let us Know what you find. Thanks.
