Repace Gas Valve Vr8200a

I believe the gas control valve on my rheem furnace needs to be replaced. It is a standing pilot.Thermostat calls for heat, blower comes on, but main burners do not light. The pilot stays lit. I have replaced the thermocouple.
The Honeywell VR8200A 2132 is the replacement for my existing VR800A 1228 valve. In looking at pictures of the new valve I thought the layout was slightly different. Is this true? I do most of the appliance and home repair around the house. Is this a task I can do myself? Any tips?

HI ann:

Are you getting 24 volts at the wiring terminals on your existing gas valve? The blower comes on? Tell us about the fan/limit control on your furnace. Some furnaces have a special fan contol that is time on and temp off. The best price I've seen on the 'Net [so far] for a HW VR8200A is at
www.air-an-water.com Let us know if you have voltage at the gas valve.
