Thumbs up gas furnace

i have a byant three burner gas furnace.the last week when you cut the heat back so it will cut off the burners will cut off but the fan keeps running i have to kill the breaker to get the fan to cut off. same thing happens the next time . i am pretty handy with a little help. thnaks andy

The inducer fan or the blower that puts heat through your registers fan?

blower

air comes out of the vents so i would say the blower

The blower (fan) is not supposed to shut down immediately after the burners. If it doesn't shut off after upward of 15 minutes then there is likely a problem.

First, I would check the thermostat. Check that the fan switch is set to "auto". If it is set to "on" then the blower will keep running. On auto, it will turn on and off with the limit switch in the furnace.

If that's not it, the problem is likely the fan limit switch (or timer depending on the model furnace). Some have a box with the limit controls, some they are integrated with in the circuit board.
