Zoning Question

Zoning Question

I have a two zone system. Even though I have large duct work in my home, I still have a bypass around my furnace for zoning. My question is when I call for heat say in zone 2 only and zone 1 is closed off, why do I hear a whistling sound from one register in zone 1?

Thanks,
Jerry

It could be that the system needs to be balanced. [I]f you open the by-pass more does the noise stop? It also could be one of the dampers leaking by or improper duct sizing and by-pass.

Thanks for the return-
What do you mean by balanced? When I open the bypass to its less resistive position (fully open), the noise gets less, but some noise stll remains. I was hoping an adjustment to my current system could fix my problem.
