Chimney Dampner for oil heater? Auto

Do they make a outdoor chimney dampner which opens automatically when the oil furnace runs and then closes when its finished heating? Would'nt this be beneficial to prevent heat loss ? the top sealing dampners i have seen are all manual types for fireplaces. thanks

What you're looking for is called an "Automatic Vent Damper"

I've seen (and installed) them for gas-fired equipment. Flue temperatures for oil-fired units are much higher.

Try this site. If they don't have them, they'll probably be able to point you in the right direction.

Damper

Stack dampers for oil fired equipment used to be fairly common BUT, to my knowledge, they are no longer available.
