Lennox Pulse Gas Furnace
am having a diagnostic "nightmare"...only due to lack of knowledge of the Lennox Pulse. This is a roughly '90 model. 80,000 BTU....The problem: Furnace lights for about 10 sec- 2 minutes...shuts down...It resembles a primary air problem, sounds of the fire sucking air. A previous tech just changed the ignition lockout module said it would fix it...The cust. has it in her head it is in the T-Stat. i know it takes special people when working on this type of Lennox. I do not have the model # right now...but seems it was G14Q480. Best can remember. Any Ideas would be great. I have tried removing the intake flue just in case intake pipe was clogged...same problem. I am returning tommorrow to start fresh. I did not have alot of time to get into it today. It also seems rather tough to get to the flame sensor? Seemed like ya have to have little hands. Well...any help or direction would be great!!!

Has both flappers been replaced over the years? Chances are they have never been replaced.
Are you a Lennox Dealer? If not, I would have them call a Lennox dealer who KNOWS these furnace, and has a testing equipment. These heat exchanger needs to be pressure tested every now and then. if it fails on the test, Lennox will provide X amount of dollars off on the new furnace.

This is what should be done 1st thing. These older Pulse furnaces are bad for breached exchangers. Even if the exchanger is still under warranty by Lennox the cost to replace it may outweigh the benifits and a new furnace would be a better option.
As a side note jump out the t-stat for the customer to ease her mind about the t-stat being the issue.
