smoke on walls

smoke on walls

my mother-in- law has caste iron base board heat
the problem is that there is black soot running up the wall starting about 3-4" from the base board
the wall that are out side walls you can see the frame work from the soot.
I repainted the hole house and with in 3 months you can see the soot on the walls

When was the last time you had the boiler burner checked
Gas or oil??????.

Now hot water base board does have the dirt in the home going up the walls as the hot air from them heats the room the air goes up the walls. Have you vacuum all the fins to clean them out ( on the bottom side).

its oil and there are now fins since its cast iron.
The furnace had a blow back about 7 years ago.
The house is keeped very clean over all and she evens washes the walls down.
