Utility brand, model B.75 FAF Stays on?

The furnace is a Utility brand, model B.75 FAF. The thermostat is a Hunter
"Set n' Save" model.

I turn the thermostat down during the day, but the heater stays on for about 15 more minutes or it stays on, goes off and comes back on then shuts down and stays down until I turn the
thermostat on.

Is it a defective thermostat?

Thanks

What happens when you set system swtich from Heat to OFF? If nothing happens, then it's the t-stat.

FYI, get a good stat like Honeywell. Hunters stats are not the best out there.

I'd like to suggest, on the set up menu of the t-stat, set the stat to 3, either it wil say "Hot water heat or High Eff.", or CPH.
