Plugged Air Conditioner Drain Line
#1

The drain line from my attic air conditioner to the sewer line is plugged. Water is accumulating in the pan and is going out the emergency drain. Need suggestions on how to unplug the drain line from the AC to the sewer line.

Hi:
I hope that you don't mean that the a/c drain line is DIRECTLY connected to the sewer line. A direct connection is not allowed. The condensate drain line has to either drain on to the ground or to an open drain. As for clearing it, you can cut or unfasten the pipe in the attic and blow it out with compressed air or flush it with your garden hose. Then, gain access to the drain pan and clean it out with a wet vac. Put everything back together and install a provision to make it easier the next time. Thanks. John.
