Tempstar furnace problem

I have a tempstar NG forced air furnace that when thermostat calls for heat, Ignitor clicks, lights the pilot, burners come on for approx 20 to 30 seconds then they go out, and cycle starts again. Pilot stays lit and does not go out.

Could the gas control valve be bad or would the ignition module be the problem??

More than likely it's the flame sensor. With the furnace off, remove the cover to expose the burner area. Usually on the far left side there is a rod about 3" long extending into the burner area to sense flame. Clean it off with a scotch brite pad and try your furnace again.

Thanks for the tip. I will clean the sensor. In the event this does not rectify the issue, what would be the next item to check???

I found the sensor and cleaned it. Problem solved, and much faster ignitor operation. It turned out that the ignitor and flame sensor are all in one. Thanks for the help.
