Automatic electronic right? That sparks? Or is it one of thsoe yo have to manually puash button ro move a lever to get it to spark? Or does this ignitor glow? Is there a pilot light that has to light?

Is this a new enough furnace that has a PVC exhaust pipe, and has an inducer fan (exhaust gas) that has to start first? If you have that, does that fan try to come on, when you turn up the thermostat?

Not knowing your answer, be sure no furnace switch got turned off and that the gas did not get shut off and pin-locked at the gas meter for none payment or is otherwise shut off. And that the thermostat is not in an off position, and if digital, that it is not programmed to be on yet or something.
