Question Heater turns ON 15 sec,OFF, then ON

Our heater just started this - it turns ON for 15 seconds, then OFF, then right back ON. It runs fine on the second ON and heats without an issue.

Any ideas?

I am definitely no expert, but with the endless troubles I have had I would guess that your fan limit control is sticking.

watch the dial and see if it sticks and draws back.

then you go to thermostat, ignition control and on and on and on

good luck

On-Off-On

What is cycling off? Is it the burner or fan? I presume this furnace to be gas? If the burner is cycling off & the furnace is gas, the flame sensor rod could need cleaning. This rod is usually just a steel rod with a porcelain base & one wire coming from it. It is usually located on the opposite end of the burner rack from the source of ignition. Remove the rod & clean with a Scotch Brite pad. Re-install & let us know what happens.
