GE Gas Furnace 21LG - Filters?

Ok..here's the deal. Bought an old house with a GE Model 21LG
gas furnace. I know, it's ancient - 1965? But it works great.
Does have air filters? Where do they go? Do they fit into the
front cover grill? The furnace presently has nothing in that front grill, but I think that's where they go. What size filter, and can you use any standard filter? Any special maintenance I should do since the furnace has been running for about a year without filters? (Unless they are in a location I can't find!)
Appreciate advice on this!

Have you removed the blower door over to see if it's in there?

or it may be in the ductwork just before the furnace.

If it turns out you have nothing at all, I would suggest to get a service tech in to check your A/C coil, and blower cage.
