Cool What can cause "Rollout"?

We have a fairly old Tempstar furnace that has a problem with tripping the rollout switch. The furnace comes on fine but the center burner doesn't seem to ignite completely. It will light about 1/2 way and slowly got out and rollout the front of the combustion chamber. It then re-lights and goes through this same cycle. I have recently removed the burners and cleaned them to remedy this problem... but no go. It doesn't always trip the switch, but we never know when we will wake up to a cold house. The blower keeps running when the switch is tripped since the stat is still calling for heat. Makes for a cold morning. I guess my question is...
What can be the cause for the "Rollout"?

Rollout may be caused by a cracked heat exchanger or restriction in the heat exchanger. Rust or soot are the most likely cause. Remember when you see the flame rolling about you also have carbon monoxide. This is probably not a DIY project.
