Long lasting ignitor alternative?

hello everyone.
we have 2 weeks of cold winter here in seattle, and my son's and buddy's ignitors failed in their furnaces. both pretty much self - shaddred into pieces. make things better, buddy had that ignitor replaced last year - and it failed again this winter.

so, what i am trying to find is - with my furnace closing on six years (i have 2 ignitors and 4 burners) - is there a long term lasting choice for those ignitors? mine looks like a milky cube with 2 wires coming into it and a what looks like ceramic "tooth" with a gap in the middle. son's had 2 gaps. black, crystally looking compound, now i know that it's very brittle.
