exhaust fan problem Tempstar

I have been having a problem on my Tempstar gas furnace. It was put in the house around 1989. First the tubings were cracked and would not let vaccum build up to tell the ignitor to fire. I fix that with new tubing. the furnace has been working good for couple of months. the exhaust fan has been making some loud noise lately. I came home one day and the exhaust fan was running but the house was only 47 deg F. I turned off the system and turned back on. the furnace worked fine for several hours. During one cycle the fan keep running but no ignitor to start the gas flames. I think the motor is on its last leg and needs to be replaced?? Am I going in the right direction?? Any help would be great.

I'd take the inducer fan assembly out of the furnace, opererate it and inspect it. That should give you a better idea if the motor is stiff or noisy, whether it might be rubbing on the housing or whether there is debris in the furnace that might be causing a proble.
