Carrier Weathermaker 9200 Gas Furnace

Noticed water on floor in basement and traced back to Furnace drainage lines. Noticed 2" air vent line and water drain line to floor drain were disconnected. Reconnected by reattaching and tightening clamp on vent line as well as the small drain lines. Furnace about 9 years old but was looked at couple years ago. Furnace installed in vertical position.
Noticed today water again on floor.
1. Notice there is some type filter partway down drain line (sitting on floor) - could this be plugged and water backing up, thereby causing slight leak around connections? If so, what is it called and where to obtain;

2. Notice thee is also a rubber Collector Drain Tube (Blue & White striped tag on it), which has one end connected to furnace but other end just lying open. (tube is about 1" diameter with 1/4" diameter hole, about 8-10" long. Don't think this is problem but just want to ensure it's nothing. Does not appear to be plugged in end.

There are all kinds of trap and drain designs. Not sure about the filter thing. Most furnaces I deal with do not have that. But most of those are about 20 years old. Never eliminate a part if you do not know why it is there. It is there for a reason of function or new code.

You need to disconnect the tubing so that you can both effectively blow through the tube both through the trap and out the tube to the floor drain. You can always add water back to the trap, as that effectively blocks any possible unburned furnace gases/CO from escaping. You cannot overfill it because overfill will simply go down the drain, that's all. Next, also blow up the tube toward the furnace. If it's blocked, you will know by the feel at your mouth and also the sounds. If you do not care to touch the tube direct to your mouth, you'd have to use a compressor or another clean hose attached to it. Personally, I do not worry about it though. In worst cases I might rinse my mouth out before swallowing.

An open hole that you do not know what it is may simply be a vent, for the trap that must be located in the 2 inch pvc, right after the 2 inch exists the ventor.

Carrier Weathermaker 9200 Gas Furnace issue...

Txs for your comments. I was going to attach pics I had taken as worth 'a thousand words', but couldn't find out how to attach to the question.

I'll disconnect the hoses and see if blocked. (Still think it might be this 'filter' piece - did read somewhere that local bylaw indicates water PH level standards must be met and thought perhaps this was what it was for as in drain line between furnace and floor drain hole.

Think I found the problem - small crack in a PVC elbow which was leaking water. Replaced and rejoined.
Re: "Filter" - I now think it is likely just an expansion area for water to gather and force water towards the drain hole in floor
