Quiet furnace recommendation

My present single stage upflow furnace is due for replacement and I'd like to replace it with one that's substantially quieter. Can any of you recommend a model that's reliable and quiet? I want reliable more than quiet but the quieter the better. Price, of course is an issue but I'm willing to spend more on a quality unit. I'll likely replace it with a two stage unit but I'd like to have some ideas before inviting in the salesman types.

Thanx - Rick from Farmington

A correct sized two stage or modulating , variable speed furnace should work.

The dealer should do a Manual-J on your home, and also look at the duct size to allow the air flow to move freely, with out noise.

Also, should be using a two stat or match stat for the mod furnace.
