Trane XE80 blower motor

I recently installed a used Trane xe80 had system pressurized only to smell light electrical burnt odor with humming sound which sounded like a hung motor. I spun the fan blades in proper direction and it did the trick. What else should I replace with this motor to be on the safe side, or should I consider something else is wrong. I live in central Oh and its starting to get hot(believe it or not). Since blower motor wasn't working when technician attempted to pressurize the outside unit of A/C when I get the blower to spin the temperature does not drop rapidly enough.Should a recharge be accomplished with blower motor running for maximum cooling?

motor issue

First off, you need to determine why the condenser fan motor is not working. You may have a weal starting capacitor or possible a bad motor. From a recall standpoint, I would replace the motr and cap since you can smell something burning and I would figure the motor has been compromised.

Once you have the motor repaired, make sure your air filters arre clean, your condenser coil is clean, then you can think about operating and seeing if you need to charge it or not. Run the system for at least 20 mins to let it settle and go from there.

A NATE certified technician would be a good choice to repair your system correctly.

Thanks on my way. I got the motor pulled and will replace both and see what happens.

That was a relatively easy swap of parts. I even got the no lube required motor for $115.00 and capacitor for $9ish. Thanks for the help.
