Post Airco furnace with S86F ingniter

I have an Airco natural gas furnace with S86F ingniter that lights the pilot for 1 to 2 seconds then something clicks and the pilot flame goes out. The main burner flame never does come on. The ingnitor will click (spark), a few seconds later the sequence repeats itself.

I measured 24 v across the MV/PV and the PV terminals as suggested earlier. I have also replaced the ingnitor end that goes into the firing chamber.

The thermostat is set above room temp so that there should be a call for heat.

Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks puzzledLen

clean your rod tip and the hood. Check your ground. This link will help you troubleshoot the problem.

Best bet is to let your professional fix it.

The spark and pilot gas should turn on together.

The spark should continue until the pilot burner lights.

The pilot flame should then be detected by flame rectification.

When the pilot flame is detected, the spark shuts off and the main burner gas valve opens. The main burner should light off the pilot burner.

Based on the description given, I'd check to verify that 24VAC remains turned on to the ignitiopn module. Something might be turning it off, causing the system to recycle.

Second, I'd check the gas supply. You may have enough gas pressure to light the pilot, but when the main burner turns on the gas pressure might be dropping, shutting off the pilot burner and causing the system to recycle.
