I recently posted a question about my heat pump freezing.I have checked the pressure readings , cleaned the entire outside unit, cleaned the (A) coil and installed a new filter. The unit is an older Weatherking. The heat pump works fine during the day even if it is 30 degrees outside. The problem is it freezes in the early morning hours.I never see it go into defrost mode. The defrost timer has a timer knob with a capulary tube. I have tried turning the timer manually to where it should go into defrost ,but it will not defrost even when it is frozen. Is it possible that this timer is defective? Is there any checks that I am missing? Any information would be greatly appreciated.Read More
