A2VA7116 (Suntec) for Beckett AFII

I recently replaced the A2VA7116 (Suntec) pump with a used conventional pump without Suntec for my Beckett AFII oil burner and the burner did not ignite. Does this mean that I cannot use the conventional pump on the newer generation of burner? Thanks.

Did you prime the new pump?

Conventional Pump?

What do you mean by a "conventional" pump? The A2VA-7116 is hardly state of the art. What is the make & model of the furnace? (Most AFII burners use a higher than "standard" pump pressure.)
