Honeywell VS820A1047 gas valve thermostat & powerpile connection.

I have just installed this gas valve on my furnace and I'm now reconnecting the red and white wires from both the powerpile and the thermostat. I need to know where the red and white wires connect on the terminal block. I know the terminal is marked PP and TH, for powerpile and thermostat, but I need to know where the red and the white cables connect for each.

Either side of the pilot generator can be the "power" side or the "ground" side.

Connect the thermostat and one pilot generator wire to TH/TP --- that's your power side. The thermostat acts as a switch turning the millivolts on and off. The thermostat then connects to the TH connection on the gas valve, which is the "power" side of the gas valve solenoid.

The other wire from the pilor generator connects to the "TP" connection which is the "ground" side of the circuit.

So the gas valve solenoid connections to turn on the gas valve are TH and TP.

TH/TP is just a way of connecting the wires and really needn't be used.
