There is a very slight/somewhat burning odor coming coming from the air vents from my electric furnace. The unit is running and heating just fine. I have completely turned it off at this point. Any suggestions?

What it sounds like , is you are having some dust hit the heating coil when its running... has filter been changed lately?...could also be coming off the blower blades..

Do you have a just an electric furnace and no other heat?If so it is sequenced in stages. The tstat is probably two stage. If the weather has not been too cold ,the first stage was keeping up with all by itself.Colder room temps would have brought on second stage. The heaters were burning of accumulated residue. This odor will dissipate after several cycles.PDF
