heil (or who ever) part cross reference/substitution

i have a heil high efficiency furnace tha was built in about '87 .
it is still in good shape but the "heat exchanger cam limit switch assembly" is starting to give fits .
the original pn : HQ1002743CS

yeah , i can find the original number on line from a couple of places but they are pretty proud of them !
what i am looking for is a viable substitue/cross reference to another make (say honeywell or as such) ... i believe these can be had for a bit better price .
i have looked around on line but i really can't seem to find any "competitive cross reference" data .
the heat exchanger box looks like it was punched out to accept at least two physically different types .
of course , making a hole bigger or making a couple of new ones is not a big deal .

the original unit (switch) has been in service since '87 ...
what a piece of junk ! it only lasted 24 years !
