Oddball Furnace filter size 23x13x1/2

I have a Ducane Furnace Model # FPBB050A3. One website informed me the size of the filter is 23x13x1/2.
As best as I can measure, that is accurate. I cannot find this filter anywhere.
Home Depot looked at me funny when I asked.
Does anyone know where I can find one of these OR if I must, how to make one?
(the house was built in 1950. I am guessing that is the age of the furnace?)

I think I'd cut a frame out of sheet metal that could be set in place, then cut a larger filter down to fit in the frame.

Or you can probably get away with using a smaller size filter to set in the frame.

The idea of the frame would be to offer some support so the filter doesn't become deformed by air pressure and to prevent gaps around the edge of the filter.

A piece of stiff cardboard or .25" plywood might work as well.

Although it MAY be that old..I doubt it..it seems to still be a cataloged item. You might call Ducane to find a local dealer or place to buy the filter.
