Question

What can I do to insulate the pipes on my hot water heater/boiler? The current insulation is falling apart and crumbling. I need to reduce the excess heat escaping into the basement.
I have seen what looks like foam tubes, which I am told is insulation for pipes. Will these work?

YES IT DOES WORK>>>>>HOWEVER

It will help.HOWEVER you will need the pipe size.Chose the insulation with a 1/2 wall size or thicker.Buy the type that has a self adhesive strip or you will be covered with the glue that sticks the other stuff together.PDF
